Some helpful tips for appealing to your SASSA benefits application:
- You have between 30 to 90 days to appeal
- Appeals made more than 90 days after the initial declination will automatically be rejected.
- Appeals must be made to the Independent Tribunals for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA.)
- Scrutinize all information you submitted on your previous application for discrepancies.
- You want to make sure that all information submitted on your appeal application is complete and accurate.
- You can update your application here
- That will ensure that payments will be sent to the right place if your appeal is approved.
- Click on the saved button when you’re finished with your changes. You’ll go right to the SASSA main page.
- You’ll need to check the confirmation box to confirm that you have read and understand the clauses in the Declarations and Consent Documents.
- Select the “submit’ button and seek out the confirmation message
- You’ll know that your application was submitted successfully when you see the confirmation message.
- Note that you’ll need to submit your appeal request in the month that your application was declined to maximize your chances of receiving benefits.
